The steps required for completing Protecting God’s Children

For Volunteers & Employees

COMPLETE THE STEPS IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER

1) Effective June 1, 2010 anyone wishing to volunteer or seek

employment must now complete an application then the steps begin.

2) Complete the necessary form to begin a background check. This is completed by the Church

at no cost to you. A check of any felony arrests during your life is checked both at the

State and National level. This usually takes 3 to 5 working days to complete. The check is

done either through Lexis/Nexis or ADP, both nationally recognized companies performing

such checks.

2) Upon successful completion of the check you must get a copy of the Code of Conduct and

read the sections outlined, complete the last sheet, and forward it to your administrator.

3) Within 30 days of your successful completion of the background check you must schedule

yourself for a 3 hour class in the program “Protecting God’s Children”. These events will be

monitored to make sure all are successfully completed. Click here to register online.

4) Having completed all of the above you may be required to continue ongoing training and you

will sign up at www.virtus.org . You must have an Email address in order to receive

updates to your training which will all be done on-line.
