The steps required in completing Protecting God’s Children

For Volunteers ONLY

1) Complete the necessary form to begin a background check. This is competed by the Church

at no cost to you. A check of any felony arrests during your life is checked both at the

State and National level. This usual takes 3 to 5 working days to complete. The check is

done either through Choicepoint or ADP, both nationally recognized companies performing

such checks.

2) Upon successful completion of the check you must get a copy of the Code of Conduct and

read the sections outlined, complete the top sheet, and forward it to your administrator.

3) Within 90 days of your successful completion of the background check you must schedule

yourself for a 3 hour class in the program “Protecting God’s Children”. These events will be

monitored to make sure all are successfully completed. Click here to register online.

4) Having completed all of the above you are asked to continue ongoing training by signing up

at www.virtus.org . In order to sign up you must have the date you attended your training

session. You must have an Email address in order to receive updates to your training which

will all be done on-line.
