August 9 is National Book Lovers Day, a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading and the lifelong benefits that books bring to children of all ages.
At Queen of Peace Grammar School, we believe that reading is one of the greatest gifts we can give our students. Books inspire curiosity, encourage creativity, strengthen critical thinking, and help children develop empathy by introducing them to new people, places, and perspectives. Whether it’s an exciting mystery, a fascinating biography, or a favorite picture book, every page turned is another step in a child’s educational journey.
Summer is the perfect time to build strong reading habits. Just a few minutes of reading each day helps students maintain their academic skills, expand their vocabulary, and prepare for a successful new school year. More importantly, reading together as a family creates lasting memories and fosters a love of learning that extends far beyond the classroom.
As the first day of school approaches, we encourage all of our students to complete their Summer Reading Assignments and arrive ready to share what they’ve discovered through their books.
